Produced by Pepper’s Project, a Tokyo-based gallery and art project promoting the work of emerging artists, the fair is now in it’s fifth year and exhibits in both Japan and the United States. The US component opened on February 24 and will run through March 8, 2011, at five venues throughout New York City: Kinokuniya, Printed Matter, St. Mark’s Bookshop, Book Court, and Desert Island.

This is an excellent opportunity to see how contemporary Japanese book art is being shaped by a new generation of artists. Check out the Printed Matter website for an excellent description in English with lots of details.
